In 2000 Pirelli Spa asked Evotech to carry out a study on a continuous storage/supply buffer for the production of tyre compound (CCM – Continuous Compound Mixing).
Adriano Girotto’s solution allowed Evotech to become one of the main system suppliers for Pirelli Spa.

Best Innovator 2004
On 16 November 2004, during the first Innovation Day organised by Confindustria (the Confederation of Italian Industry), Pirelli Pneumatici received the ‘Best Innovator 2004’ award, organised by A.T. Kearney in cooperation with Confindustria, as an acknowledgment of the capability to create something valuable through innovation. The prize was awarded for the excellence achieved in integrating different innovative dimensions, and it is also an acknowledgment of the cutting-edge technology used by Pirelli and particularly the MIRS (Modular Integrated Robotized System) production system, and the innovative compound room CCM (Continuous Compound Mixing). Pirelly has patented both system, which allow reducing significantly times and costs for the production of high-end tyres, at the same time increasing flexibility and product quality.
